I have wanted to get myself a new photo camera for years now, but never got around to do it..

Canon EOS 1000D

Canon EOS 1000D

About one week ago I purchased my first mirror reflex camera , a Canon EOS 1000D. This camera is suppose to be a good beginners camera, and my first impression si that it ‘s true. The lens I got is a EFS 18-55mm, but I’m thinking about getting one more to be able to get better zoom options. If anyone got a suggestion to a good lens that will cover a beginners needs in that field please let me know.

The camera is very easy in use and the menu is very instinctively to use. It’s also very easy to handle and fits pretty good into your hands. It has got some critisism because the LCD screen only is 2,5″ and not 3″, but I don’t find that to be a problem at all. I’m going to view the images on a tv or my laptop anyways, and maybe even print some if they turn out good. The autofocus on the camera is very good and it manages to take 3 images a second. The image quality is very good, and I’ve read that it is more than enough to support a A2 print.

To mention some negative things, I’m a bit dissapointed regarding the lack of possibility to show edited photos on the camera after transfering it back from the computer. (I changed the format of the picture to cut of some unwanted guy on my photo).

I’m going to post some images here from time to time and discuss about my experience in becoming a hobby photograph, or whatever you’d want to call it. The first one I’m going to show you is a picture I took today of a ice structure outside.
